MomConnection - give something back

I already mentioned that I do a lot of surveys for companies that pay for your honest opinion, but I wanted to tell you about another panel that I've been a member of for almost three years. It's called MomConnection and it does NOT pay you to speak your mind, but gives money they make on these surveys to the charity of your choice. Available choices are:

The What to Expect Foundation is dedicated to giving low-income parents educational materials and support so that they can expect a healthy pregnancy, a safe delivery, and a happy baby.

The National Partnership for Women & Families is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that uses public education and advocacy to promote fairness in the workplace, quality health care, and policies that help women and men meet the dual responsibilities of work and family.

Reading Is Fundamental, Inc. (RIF) motivates children to read by working with them, their parents, and community members to make reading a fun and beneficial part of everyday life. RIF's highest priority is reaching under served children from birth to age 8.

The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.

Their surveys are usually short (a couple of questions each) and only take a minute or two of your time, and the money goes to the good cause. The participation is totally free and voluntary. Once in a while they have 'special survey opportunities' that may require in-home product testing (we've tested Clorox Anywhere spray for them a while back - for free, and also got coupons for free products from the manufacturer).

Even though technically it's not a deal or an earning opportunity, I thought I'd share. It's an easy way to contribute to your favorite charity (without money coming out of your pocket) and make your voice heard at the same time.

Research panels - get paid for surveys

I have started participating in surveys a long time ago - seven or eight years I think. I've seen a lot of panels disappear into thin air, some - merged with others over time, and some continue to live and pay you for your opinions or testing of new products.

My long-term favorite is PineCone Research, but unfortunately they are not currently accepting new applications (keep your eyes open for their banners - that's the only way to sign up!).
I have received a word that Synovate, another large and reputable research panel, on the other hand, is currently expanding and is looking for new members. Participation is totally FREE for you; they send you quick and easy surveys based on your preference (from 1 to over 10 per week) with each completed survey giving you the opportunity to earn cash and points, participate in sweepstakes and test new products. Occasionally, they send you samples, coupons and little souvenirs (like notebooks, playing cards, pens, calendars with their logo) - absolutely free.

I'll keep you posted about other places that pay for your opinions and- I am a member of quite a few - just need to check which ones are recruiting new panelists at this time :)
